Icom IC-F1100D is a VHF two-way radio from Icom. A replacement radio for the now discontinued IC-F1000D, this radio is an excellent choice if you're looking for a reliable starter radio. A simple black box design means that the IC-F1100D is extremely easy to use even for people with no two-way radio experience. A channel selector knob and volume/power knob are present on top of the device next to the radio, the channel selector also aided by voice announcement should the radio be used in environments of low lighting. On the left-hand side of the IC-F1100D, there is a textured push-to-talk button and two programmable buttons.
This radio is fairly slender standing at 111.8mm in height, 52.2mm in width and 29.4mm in depth. Weighing in at only 260 grams this means that the IC-F1100D is fairly light, allowing for it to be carried on the person’s waist via the use of a belt clip or on their arm through the use of a wrist strap. The IC-F1100D comes as standard with the 1485mAh Li-Ion battery, this will be more than sufficient to cover a full working shift ensuring that communications are not lost at any point.
The IC-F1100D is built to IP67 Ingres protection standards meaning that it is completely protected against dust intrusion, whilst also ensuring that the radio can be submerged in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Due to both the robustness and simplicity of the IC-F1100D, it can be used in a variety of working environments from security to leisure facilities.
VHF ONLY: The Icom IC-F1100D is the VHF only version. If you need the UHF version, see the Icom IC-F2100D.
Ideal Analogue NXDN Digital Migration
The Icom IC-F1100D is an ideal migration two way radio. Since the IC-F1100D works in both analogue and digital modes, the IC-F1100D allows the gradual migration from analogue to NXDN digital.
High Power Super Loud Speaker & Noise Cancelling
The Icom IC-F1100D improves on it's predecessor's speaker. The IC-F1000D had just an 800mW speaker. The IC-F1100D boasts a massive 1500mW speaker. That means the Icom IC-F1100D is by far the loudest radio in its class.
Icom IC-F1100D has amazing noise-cancelling technology that can detect and reduce background noise. This is ideal for building sites and other places where there is a large amount of background noise.
Waterproof & Military Standard Compliant
The Icom IC-F1100D is built to military standard and is MIL-STD-810-G compliant. IC-F1100D is waterproof and dust resistant and compliant with IP67.
Noise cancelling technology mixed with its extremely loud speaker and IP67 waterproofing means that the Icom IC-F1100D is the ideal radio for outdoor and indoor use.
Slim, Compact & Lightweight
The IC-F1000D has a compact 52.2 x 111.8 x 30.3mm body and weighs just 260g with the heavy-duty BP-280 battery pack and belt clip (both supplied and included). The included BP-280 battery allows up to 12 hours of use (5% transmit, 5% receive, 90% standby duty cycle) That means it's extra lightweight. The IC-F1100D can be made even lighter by taking a smaller batter, for example, the BP-279. However, this does impact the battery life to as little as 5 hours.
Built-in 2-Tone and 5-Tone (Analogue mode)
The IC-F1100D can also be used in Analogue mode. It has built-in 2-Tone, 5-Tone, CTCSS and DTCS signalling capability for analogue mode group communication and selective calling. The IC-F1100D can be used as an analogue transceiver ready for future digital migration.

Icom IC-F1100D Features Explained
Taken from our knowledge base, we explain each feature of the Icom IC-F1100D.
Lone Worker
Lone Worker is a feature found on many two way radios where it's able to send a pre-determined signal, for example a distress call or alarm, to other radios in range, Lone Worker requires some type of interaction from the radio user after a period of radio inactivity.
An example of this is the radio can be set to require the radio operator to interact with his or her radio once every 30 minutes. If they fail to do so, their radio will start making an audible sound. If there is still no interaction with his or her radio within 1 further minute, a alarm will sound to other team members to tell them a team member is not responding to Lone Worker.
The supervisor can then dispatch another team member to the non-response team member's last known location to offer assistance.

Two Way Radio Man Down
Know instantly if a team member falls...
Man Down provides remote monitoring of workers by detecting if their radio is upright, or if the radio is on it's side assumes there may be a problem. Radios which support Man Down are fitted with an accelerometer (or similar device) which allows them to detect the orientation of the radio.
If somebody slips or falls, they are likely to be on their side, Man Down will automatically detect this, activate and transmit an alert to call for help from a supervisor or other team members.
This works is almost the same way as your smart phone which knows if you have it positioned portrait mode or landscape mode. See this video to see how man down works.
