Motorola SL4010e

The SL4010e is a digital two-way radio from Motorola. Designed for use in hospitality, retail and service sectors the SL4010e offers advanced functionality in the shape of a palm sized radio. Only available for UHF frequencies, the SL4010e has a channel capacity of 1000 which is more than sufficient for any sized company. These channels can be split over groups to allow for different areas of your business to have their own channels, ensuring that communications between a front of house team aren't crossed with the kitchen staff for example.

Standing at 121mm in height, 55mm in width and 23mm in depth whilst weighing only 174 grams reiterates the small stature of the SL4010e, this making it the ideal choice for customer facing roles due to its smart appearance. Although the radio is slender in size an IP54 protection rating ensures that the radio has a limited Ingress against dust intrusion whilst also being safeguarded against splashes of water from all angles. Although the SL4010e is capable of withstanding splashes of water and has a military standard rating of C/D/E/F/G, this radio has primarily been designed for indoor use and is only available for UHF frequencies. Should you operate a business whereby you need rugged radios alongside the formal SL4010e, other radios can be programmed to work with them to ensure that you're not using the slender SL4010e in environments where they could potentially be broken.

There are many advanced features that the SL4010e has that aren't commonly seen on similar devices. Lone Worker is a standard feature that can be added to the radio, this feature monitors the activity levels of the radio and should it be inactive for a pre-set period of time a beep will sound, if the operator doesn't touch the radio following this beep an alert will be sent to other radios within the network to let them know that there may be an issue with the operator. Man Down, although an optional paid upgrade, operates very similarly to Lone Worker although rather than monitoring radio activity monitors the orientation of the radio. The SL4010e has 2 programmable buttons allowing for quick access to important features, whilst also having an emergency button that can be pressed should an operator need instant assistance.

The SL4010e also has Bluetooth capabilities allowing for the connection of compatible accessories such as earpieces and a microphone. A paid upgrade that also links to Bluetooth is the ability to perform indoor locations tracking, this ensuring that all radios are accounted for at all times alongside helping to improve the efficiency of workers. Integrated WiFi allows for over the air updates to be made with your SL4010e radios, this means that radios do not need to be taken out of circulation in order to update them to the latest software or firmware.
