Kenwood TK-3401D
The TK-3401D is a digital/analogue two way radio from Kenwood. A radio described as having industrial strength, the TK-3401D is built to MIL-STD-810 specification whilst also being IP55 resistant. This resistance means that not only does the radio have a limited ingress protection against dust, but is also safeguarded against jets of water. Replaced by Kenwood TK-3701d.
A license free radio, the TK-3401D can operate in dPMR mode whilst complying with the ETSI TS 102 390 Standard. 32 Channels are pre-programmed into the radio, with an additional 8 analogue PMR446 frequencies and 16 DPMR446 frequencies. The TK-3401D has a AMBE+2 Vocoder built-in, this allows for a natural sounding digital voice for clear communications between users.
Supplied as standard with a 2000mAh Li-Ion battery, this will allow for the TK-3401D to operate for up to 18 hours. A battery saver mode is a function within the TK-3401D, allowing for the user to extend the life of their radio, whilst also having a low battery warning to make the operator aware when the radio needs to be charged. VOX voice activation is also present, allowing for hands free use of the radio should it be needed in certain working environments.
