Icom IC-F29SR Licence Free Two Way Radio

The IC-F29SR is a license free analogue two way radio from Icom. Although lightweight and compact, the IC-F29SR is extremely durable. Built to IP67 standards, this radio has a full ingress protection against dust whilst also being fully submergible up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. A 21 hour operation time can be expected of the supplied battery, alongside it also being waterproof.

This radio has just three controls, a transmit button, volume control and a 16-position rotary channel selector. The simple interface makes it a great option for fast paced environments, or shift work whereby the radio is constantly changing hands. A low battery alert sounds should the IC-F29SR be low on life, also hosting a group call function.

Easy to hear in a noisy environment, the IC-F29SR has a large 36mm speaker in order to provide 800mW audio to the operator. A built in inversion voice scrambler is present, whilst also having a time-out-timer and monitor function.

Compact and Slim

The F29SR is only 18.5 cm tall, 5.4 cm wide and 4cm from front to back even including the belt clip and only 300g in weight, making the F29SR one of the smallest and lightest business two way radios in its class.

IP67 Waterproof

The Icom F29SR is built on the same technology as the F1000 VHF and F2000 UHF series and shares the same IP67 waterproof properties. The F29SR is even water resistant for working in moderately wet environments such as outdoors and swimming pools.

Easy to Use

Like the Icom F1000 and F2000, the Icom  often F29SR has only 6 controls including the PTT button. As seen in the diagram below, 3 of the 6 buttons are programmable or can be de-programmed if not needed. The simple layout of the F29SR means that it's incredibly easy to use and the few buttons means little chance of confusion.

Loud & Clear Audio

The F29SR has a large 36mm speaker to ensure loud and clear audio. In addition this radio has a high quality microphone for ultimate voice clarity.

Call Ring Feature

Ten different ring patterns can be selected to enable the user to call individual radios. A feature often used by door security staff.

Voice Scrambler

If you need to have a private conversation the user can use one of the 16 codes to scramble the users voice so that no-one else can hear the conversation.

Answer Back

The "smart ring" system checks whether another radio is in communications range using a ringer sound.

21 Hours Operation

The F29SR is supplied with a BP279 Battery Pack which can last up to 21 hours. In addition to that, it's also supplied with a BC213 Charger which can charge the radio in less than 2.5 hours.
