Icom IC-F1000

The IC-F1000 is a VHF two way radio from Icom. An entry level radio it is a compact yet durable device, the F1000 has many features that can’t be found on any other radios at a similar price point. The IC-F1000 has a simple black box design that makes it very easy to operate, the main features aesthetically being a volume/power knob and channel selector knob on top of the radio, whilst also having a textured PTT and 2 programmable buttons on the left hand side of the radio.

Although an analogue radio the IC-F1000 provides exceptional sound quality, this provided through a large 36mm speaker on the face of the radio which provides clear and companded 800mW audio. This alongside the built in BTL amplifier doubles the audio output power and delivers loud and intelligible voice quality to operators even in the loudest of working environments. When switching through any of the 16 programmable channels the F1000 also has a voice announcement for channels, this ensuring that even when in low light working conditions the user still knows what channel they are switching their radio to.

Built to IP67 protection this radio is extremely rugged and reliable, with not many radios at the price point having such a rating. This rating not only ensures that the IC-F1000 has a full Ingres protection against dust intrusion but also means it is fully submergible in 1 meter of water up to 30 minutes. An additional feature that the IC-F1000 has is a built in motion sensor, this is used in collaboration with Man Down (Additional Purchase) and allows for an alert to be sent to other radios within the fleet should a radio be laid on its side for a pre-set period of time.

  With a built-in motion sensor, the IC-F1000/F2000 series can detect its position, state of motion and non-motion and can send an emergency signal. The motion function detects if the transceiver is moving or shaking, for example, during a chase. Lone worker and man down functions are programmable.
