The HX446E is a PMR446 license free two way radio from Entel. The series 2 portable radio supports all EU licensed free channels, meaning that no matter where in the continent you are, the radios will continue to operate as they would in the UK. Built to last, the HX446E is ensured to military specification (MIL-STD-810 C/D/E/F/G) which allows it to continue operating in temperatures as low as -30°C through to 60°C.

An IP55 rating means that the HX446E has a limited Ingress protection against dust, this whilst also being safeguarded against jets of water from all angles. Supplied with a 2000mAh Li-Ion battery, this will allow for the radio to be in continuous use for extended periods of time, with the capability to operate throughout shift work. A robust connector allows for a variety of accessories to be used with the HX446E, various earpieces and such can be found below in order to make easier usage for the operator.

The HX446E has a 16 channel capacity, this allowing for sufficient communications between a small team. The radio has the ability to perform a channel scan, sourcing an available channel, when found the radio will automatically select it for you. Priority scan will also allow for one channel in the scan list to be treated as a priority, with it being checked more frequently than all other channels in the list. TheHX446E also allows for protection against casual eavesdropping, this with a programmable voice inversion scrambler encrypting your voice.

Features Explained

Voice Activation (VOX)

VOX (voice-operated exchange), more commonly known as Voice Activation, allows the two way radio's microphone and PTT button to be activated by simply speaking into the radio.

How To Use VOX

Most two way radios' voice activation feature only works via an external VOX capable earpiece or headset. Once connected, you simply start speaking and the two way radio will automatically initiate the transmission. When there is no longer any audio coming via your earpiece or headset, the two way radio automatically disengages the PTT.

Activating VOX

Most business grade licence exempt two way radios allow activating the voice activation feature via a button combination on the radio; or by simply plugging in a vox capable earpiece or headset. However, some more complex two way radios, such as our licensed two way radios will require some reprogramming.

VOX Drawbacks

Since VOX works by listening out for audio via the attached accessory, background noise that's near to the sound of a human voice will also activate it. That means practically anything can activate the voice activation.

For no extra cost, we supply labels with all of our radios.

Our labels are unique in that they have a space where you can write on them with a sharpie-type permanent marker. You can either use this space to write a radio number or apply a dymo label for example. These labels are 100% free of charge
